The Context
Lesvos is the temporary dwelling place of displaced people seeking refuge from over 40 nations since 2015. It's also home to millions of olive trees of the native 'Adramitiani' variety for centuries.
The Challenge
Tens of thousands of refugees in an island economy in urgent need of temporary workers.
Our Approach
Filo-Xenos helps local Greek farmers to work collaboratively and welcome this influx of “strangers”, whilst developing a sustainable future for their quality product. We invest 100% of profits to grow this socialenterprise, providing seasonal work for refugees, year on year.
We believe that displaced people can bring prosperity to local communities in places like Lesvos.
